Under the direction of Professor Sandy Welsh the Office of the Vice-Provost, Students has responsibility for policies and procedures affecting students and student organizations across the three campuses. The mandate of the Vice-Provost, Students is to ensure that university-wide programs and services are available in order for the academic divisions to deliver an outstanding student experience. The Vice-Provost oversees the operation and administration of Student Life, Programs and Services, Enrolment Services (Recruitment and Admissions) and Awards & Financial Aid, the Centre for International Experience, and the Centre for Teaching Support and Innovation. The directors of these offices, the University Registrar and the Assistant Vice President, Student Life, report to the Vice-Provost Students, who is also the senior assessor and a voting member of the University Affairs Board.
Connections with Other Offices
The Vice-Provost, Students & First-Entry Divisions is responsible for student policy and student engagement on a tri-campus basis. While the Assistant Vice-President, Student Life reports directly to the Vice-Provost, a number of other senior leaders in student affairs and services, including the Deans of Student Affairs for UTM and UTSC, report to the relevant academic leaders in those divisions. In addition, the University Registrar, who is responsible for institutional admissions and awards reports to the Vice-Provost while divisional registrars reports to the academic deans or principals of the divisions.
